Things To Do in Vegas After COVID

Las Vegas Monorail is excited to see the city coming back to life – we’ve missed you all! Vegas may look a little different than what you’re used to, there’s still plenty to do and see safely!

See the Lights at The Neon Museum

The Neon Museum is a quintessential Vegas experience, featuring more than 250 signs that showcase the neon glory for which Las Vegas is known. Since most of the exhibit is outdoors, you can see the sights while being safe and socially distant. This “only in Vegas” museum is known for being an Instagrammer’s dream come true.

You can purchase tickets in advance, and ticket prices start at $20 for non-members with kids ages 6 and under free. Locals receive a reduced rate starting at $16. The museum is reducing entry to encourage social distancing, so you’ll want to make a reservation online before you head over there. It’s open from 4 pm to midnight most days and is located north of Fremont Street.

Take A Hike!

We don’t mean leave us! There’s just so many amazing places to hike in Las Vegas and the surrounding area that it’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature. Our nearby favorites are Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park, but there’s plenty of other great hiking options. Just don’t forget to bring plenty of water and be prepared for hot temperatures – Las Vegas is literally in a desert, after all! If you’re looking for a cooler hiking option temperature wise, Mt. Charleston is a fantastic choice with its higher elevation offering significantly lower temperatures than the 110 and above degree heat Las Vegas is known for during the summer months.

Experience Lake Mead

You can swim, boat, camp, hike, fish and more at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This massive national park is the first and largest recreation area in the United States, spreading across 1.5 million acres through Nevada and Arizona. The beautiful blue waters offer the perfect escape from the summer heat, and there’s plenty of hiking to explore for those who prefer to stay on land.

While some activities are closed due to COVID-19, there is still an abundance of activities. Some marinas are open, offering half-day or day boat rentals. Some of the closest marinas to Las Vegas offering boat rentals are Boating Lake Mead and Willow Beach Marina & Campground. You could also take a day tour of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

If you’re looking for more outdoor activities in and around Las Vegas, you can find a list of more of our favorites here.

FLY LINQ and Ride High with the High Roller

While the LINQ Hotel and Casino has not reopened its hotel rooms, the Casino and Promenade are now open! This means you can soar high above the Las Vegas Strip by either flying on the FLY LINQ Zipline or taking a spin on the High Roller observation wheel. Both attractions are taking special precautions to ensure you have a safe ride.

Jump for Joy with Vegas Indoor Skydiving

Want the thrill of skydiving without the fear of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane? Say no more – we have just the activity for you! Vegas Indoor Skydiving offers you the chance to earn your wings and experience bodyflight through a simulated skydive experience. You’re able to simulate the freefall aspect of skydiving without using an airplane or parachute. The staff has plenty of safety precautions to minimize any risk of COVID, and you get to have fun skydiving without going outside. We call that a win-win! Located near the Wynn and Encore, it’s easy for Strip visitors to find and offers fun for the whole family.
