On Monday, August 4, a car crashed into the side of iconic Las Vegas Dive Bar Dino’s Lounge, which has been open since 1962 and is a reliable haunt for locals. According to 8 News Now, four people were inside the car at the time of the accident. Owner Kristin Bartolo told 8 News Now that an employee who had been working in the bar area where the car struck had stepped into the back just before the impact, and was not injured. The vehicle’s driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and police say the investigation is still in the early stages. According to Bartolo, most of the damage is cosmetic, and she expects to reopen Dino’s within the next week.

Pinches Tacos closes at Container Park

The Los Angeles-based Pinches Tacos closed its downtown Las Vegas restaurant on July 26 after 12 years at Downtown Container Park. A representative attributed the closure to economic factors, including decreased visitation, tariffs, and immigration enforcement concerns. Pinches Tacos partner Javier Anaya told KTNV that a sizeable segment of his Latino customer base has dropped, due to a lack of tourism and immigration enforcement concerns linked to the ongoing ICE raids. Pinches opened a second location at the Gramercy on West Russell Road in 2015, which remains open..
