Knights of Rizal Launches Legacy Project: Life-Size José Rizal Statue in Las Vegas Filipino Town

The statue, will be scrupulously  crafted to reflect Rizal’s iconic image, and will stands as a beacon for the Filipino-American community, promoting awareness of Filipino history and culture. Located in a central area of Las Vegas’ vibrant Filipino Town, the monument invites residents and visitors alike to honor Rizal’s contributions to freedom, justice, and national identity.

“Dr. José Rizal’s life and works inspire generations across the globe,” said [Name], [Title] of the Knights of Rizal. “Through this statue, we aim to strengthen cultural awareness and unity among Filipinos abroad while educating the wider community about Rizal’s enduring legacy.”

A MINI CONCERT and Program Kickoff Ceremony will be held at Pacific Asian Plaza on November 30 Sunday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to mark the launch of the Knights of Rizal Legacy Project. ADMISSION is FREE, and FOOD VENDORS will be available throughout the event, offering local and Filipino favorites for everyone. Performers are local musicians, LIVE Band and members, Entertainers, Vocalist, and Choir/Chorale Groups.  The event includes a cultural program, speeches by community leaders, Filipino-American Associations members, family and friends, providing a meaningful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their shared heritage.

This Legacy Project reflects the Knights of Rizal’s commitment to promoting Filipino values and history worldwide. The Knights of Rizal invites the public to join the organization, engage with the community, and join in honoring one of the Philippines’ most revered heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal.

About the Knights of Rizal
The Knights of Rizal is an international civic, cultural, and patriotic organization dedicated to upholding the ideals and teachings of Dr. José Rizal. Through education, civic programs, and cultural initiatives, the organization fosters unity, integrity, and national pride among Filipinos and the global community. 1. Origins
Founded in 1911 in Manila by Dr. Antonio C. Torres and a group of civic-minded Filipinos.
It was formally recognized by the Philippine government through Republic Act No. 646 (1951), granting it a legislative charter—a rare distinction that makes it an official order of knighthood in the Philippines.

 2. Mission and Purpose
The Knights of Rizal’s mission is to preserve, promote, and propagate the teachings, values, and ideals of Dr. José Rizal, including:
* Patriotism and nationalism
* Integrity, discipline, and civic responsibility
* Love of knowledge and education
* Service to community and country
They aim to inspire Filipinos—both in the Philippines and abroad—to live by Rizal’s example and contribute positively to society.

3. Global Presence
The organization has chapters worldwide, especially in areas with large Filipino communities (like the U.S., Canada, Europe, and the Middle East).
Each chapter conducts activities such as:
* Cultural and educational programs
* Youth development initiatives
* Community service and civic projects
* Commemorations of Rizal’s birth (June 19) and martyrdom (December 30)

4. Membership and Structure
Members are called Knights and are given ranks (e.g., Knight of Rizal, Knight Officer of Rizal, Knight Commander of Rizal, etc.) based on service and dedication.
There’s also a Ladies for Rizal auxiliary organization and Las Damas de Rizal supporting the mission.
The order’s guiding principles are honor, duty, and patriotism.

 5. Symbolism
