On Wednesday, January 1, the restaurant posted a sign on the door stating that the location had closed. The notice from management stated that “it’s been our pleasure to serve you all for the last 20 years” and that gift cards can be redeemed at the restaurant’s other location at 9135 South Durango Drive near Blue Diamond Road — which remains open. A representative confirmed that the Centennial Hills restaurant closed after service on December 31. The 24-hour restaurant in northwest Las Vegas served a menu of breakfast omelets, wings and tacos, and a graveyard menu of bacon-wrapped shrimp, steak and eggs, and carne asada fries between midnight and 6 a.m. A bartop was stocked with both gaming machines and beer and alcohol. Havana 1957 Opens at the Flamingo After two years in the works, the Cuban-themed Havana 1957 is open at the Flamingo on the Las Vegas Strip. It's the latest new restaurant to open at the nearly 80-year-old property — on the heels of Lisa Vanderpump’s Pinky’s — which harkens back to the Art Deco era of the 1920s. Going into the former Tropical Breeze Cafe space, Havana 1957 joins the chain’s five Miami-based locations in serving ham croquettes with cilantro dipping sauce, pressed Cuban sandwiches, ropa vieja braised flank steak, and breakfast sandwiches. Downtown Bar Closes Temporarily The King’s Bar at the Four Queens Hotel & Casino is temporarily closing for a few weeks as part of the property’s $24 million renovations on the nearly 60-year-old North Tower. The Patio Bar, Palace Bar, and Chicago Brewing Co. Bar all remain open. Pinkbox Doughnuts Expands With a Bigger (Pinker) Location Pinkbox Doughnuts has set up shop in the Boca Park shopping center with a hot pink and sprinkle-crusted exterior. Entering through the doughnut-shaped archway, the shop sells Pinkbox’s 70 or so doughnut varieties, plus a full coffee bar. The Boca Park shop is the company’s fourth to feature a 24-hour drive-thru, while the interior lobby will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
