Ellen Pompeo is celebrating her Hollywood Walk of Fame honor with her family by her side.
Pompeo, 55, was joined by husband Chris Ivery and two of their three kids — daughter Stella, 15, and son Eli, 8 — as she received her coveted star on Tuesday, April 29. (The couple, who wed in 2007, are also parents to daughter Sienna, 10.)
The Grey’s Anatomy star rocked a pink turtleneck and black skirt with an orange and yellow design as she threw her arms around her family. Stella stunned in a black-and-white polka dot dress with white heels, styling her hair down and carrying a white clutch, while Eli wore a navy suit and white T-shirt. Ivery, 57, looked dapper in grey pants, a matching grey vest and white collared shirt.
“Everybody say ‘Sienna’ because she’s not here!” Pompeo said as they smiled for photos.

In her speech, Pompeo made sure to pay tribute to her kids. “This doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen easily,” she said. “It takes a village. I love you Stella. I love you Eli.”
Pompeo also shared her gratitude for Shonda Rhimes, who spoke at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. While noting that balancing parenthood and career was not commonplace in the industry, Pompeo said, “Shonda allowed me to have a career, and get paid and be a mother.”

Pompeo, who has starred as Meredith Grey on the medical drama for two decades, recently shared that she’s not quite ready for all of her kids to watch her play the role.
“My 15-year-old [daughter] has seen it, and now my 10-year-old wants to see it, which she’s not ready,” Pompeo said during a March appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “A lot of kids in her class have seen it.”

“No judgment on other parents, but I don’t want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet,” Pompeo explained, referencing several sex scenes that have taken place on the ABC series. “All her classmates have, so that makes for great conversations!”
Ivery, who admitted he doesn’t tune into every episode of Grey’s Anatomy because of the more intimate scenes, exclusively gushed to Us Weekly in 2019 that he’s still his wife’s No. 1 fan.
“What’s the secret? We’ve been doing it for a long time. I think the secret is taking the time that we need,” Ivery told Us. “Like if it’s me and her and we need a date night, we take it. It’s just sort of supporting each other. And, obviously, with three kids it’s ample. Her on set, me downtown, it’s a lot. But she’s my biggest fan. I’m her biggest fan.”
He continued, “We love going to games. We love going to, like, a Laker or Clipper game. We’ll go to a game and we’ll go out to dinner. We have an amazing place out in Malibu so sometimes we’ll go out there, stay out there for the weekend. Whatever. We’ll go out with friends for dinner.”
