Less Than a Month After Reopening, a Doughnut Hot Spot Closes Both Locations

Gäbi Boutique. | Gäbi Boutique Gäbi just overhauled its menu, replacing mochi doughnuts with chicken and coleslaw doughnuts A popular mochi doughnut destination, Gäbi Boutique, is closing permanently at both locations just weeks after reopening with a new menu. Two years ago, the Chinatown cafe Gäbi Coffee & Bakery launched a doughnut spin-off called Gäbi Boutique in Henderson. The doughnut shop quickly earned a following for its delicately decorated mochi doughnuts, glazed buns filled with fresh cream, and savory doughnut breakfast sandwiches. During July and August, Gäbi Boutique at 136 North Stephanie Street Suite 130 and at 2340 Via Inspirada temporarily closed to overhaul its menus. When the shops reopened on September 6, gone were its doughnuts iced and filled with bold purple ube cream, topped with crackly crème brûlée, and enrobed in toasted lemon meringue. Today, both doughnut shops are closing permanently. The company’s original spot, Gäbi Coffee & Bakery on Spring Mountain Road, remains open with its atrium-like seating areas and signature wooden door. The new menu at the Boutiques had gone all in on Korean kkwabaegi twist doughnuts including sweet varieties glazed in rainbow colors, piped with blueberry cream cheese, or flavored like tiramisu. The savory options were more bold with doughnut twists serving as the foundation for basil cream and tomato slices or coleslaw and chipotle chicken.
