Georgia’s Favorite Fast-Food Chicken Chain Zaxbys Expands to Las Vegas
Zaxbys | Zaxbys Plus, a horror-themed coffee shop plans a Vegas debut It’s an exciting time for Las Vegas residents who long for the regional fast-food brands they had back home. The latest entrant is Zaxbys, which opened a location of its fried chicken restaurant on Monday, April 14 at 5290 Blue Diamond Road near Decatur Boulevard. The Atlanta, Georgia-based chicken chain slings fried shrimp, fried chicken sandwiches, party-sized servings of wings and tenders, and loaded “zalads.” The restaurant will host a grand opening at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, and the first 150 guests in line will receive giveaway prizes. Zaxbys is just the latest fast-food chain to open in southern Nevada. In January, the North Carolina-based Bojangles opened — also on Blue Diamond Road. Last month, the Hawaiian-based Zippy’s opened its second location. And that’s not to mention the grocery stores Aldi and H-Mart, which will both open for the first time on April 24. With horror-inspired murals, desserts that drip with red icing, coffin-shaped serving trays, and cold brews with monster-themed names, Horror Vibes Coffee is as much a cafe as it is a year-round Halloween attraction. Horror Vibes is opening a Las Vegas outpost at 4480 Paradise Road near Harmon Avenue. According to the shop’s Instagram page, it’s set to open “soon.” And it may fill the void left by the similarly themed Nightmare Cafe, which closed in March of 2024. But the big excitement is that the iconic Southern California burger joint, Irv’s Burgers, is adding a second Las Vegas outpost. Also located at the Durango Resort, the Miracle Mile Shops announced that Irv’s Burgers will start serving burgers, fries, and shakes later this year.
