Why Did Angelina Jolie Go Barefoot on ‘The Tonight Show?’

Only Angelina Jolie can get away with going barefoot in public.

Jolie, 49, stepped out with no shoes on while appearing on a Thursday, December 5, episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

“I noticed that you’re barefoot,” Fallon, 50, pointed out, seconds after Jolie took a seat. “Did you forget your shoes?” he quipped.

“I broke my toe yesterday,” Jolie explained, laughing, as she reached down towards her foot. 
“Youre kidding me,” Fallon replied, resending his joke.

Jolie continued, “I tried to find a comfortable shoe but I just decided to not.”

Fallon then reassured the actress she definitely didn’t have to wear shoes on his show. “Just be comfortable. We’re just happy you’re here!”

Jolie’s barefoot look was hardly even noticeable, thanks to her stunning black dress, perfect for any red carpet event — and perfectly polished toes. The elegant design featured a high neck, no sleeves, a fitted bodice and a floor-length skirt.

The Maria star dressed her look up even more with soft glam, including filled-in eyebrows, minimal eye makeup, highlighter swept across her cheeks and nude lips.

Her blonde highlights were parted down the middle and blown out.

Before breaking her toe, Jolie could be seen effortlessly strutting through the streets in stylish pumps.

Earlier this month, she wore a pair of Aquazzura La Nuit Sandal Plateaus at the 2024 Gotham Awards. Her $1,695 shoe featured five-inch heels with a beaded platform. Jolie kept the rest of her look simple with the towering heels, donning a silk loosely fitted dress featuring a velvet lining. For glamorous good measure, she pushed a gold cuff halfway up her arm and wore dainty hoop earrings.

Jolie again made wearing steep pumps look easy while out and about in New York City in November. Her black heels featured a pointed-toe and a stiletto heel, which she paired with a tan trench coat and another little black dress, which unlike a broken toe, will forever be in fashion. Jolie added a pop of color to her outfit with terracotta lips.
