A New Paint-Splashed Parisian Cocktail Bar Opens With Flaming Absinthe Cocktails

Trees is still a few months away from opening his French bistro, Bar Boheme, located next door, but Petite Boheme opened as of late December. A splash of paint marks the entrance to Petite Boheme at the end of a narrow corridor behind two buildings at 1407 South Main Street. The refurbished industrial space is covered in spray-painted murals of astronauts, peace signs, and Banksy-style balloons. Behind the bar, bartenders mix cocktails like the light and fruity Le Plaisir de Scotty with rum, apricot, and sour cherry. The J’accuse starts with a rinse of absinthe set aflame before the scorching glass gets filled with a chilled blend of apple brandy and amaro. And Le Big Mac with malted milk and a whole egg is nearly as thick as a chocolate milkshake. While the bar will soon function as a companion piece to the Bar Boheme restaurant, it also serves a small section of bar snacks like nuts and spiced chunks of watermelon. Two More California Coffee Shops Buzz Into Las Vegas Uncommons adds a second California-based coffee shop, Blue Bottle, to its southwest complex. The shop will make its Las Vegas debut just a few doors down from Urth Caffe, also based in the LA area. While Blue Bottle does not yet have an opening date, Uncommons launched a farmer’s market series last weekend, and it’s held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Better Buzz continues its Las Vegas expansion with a new location opening on Friday, January 17 at 71 North Nellis Boulevard in East Las Vegas, with a menu of classic and sugary coffee drinks, plus toasts and sandwiches. The Lexi Launches a New Restaurant The first Las Vegas hotel to market itself as “cannabis-friendly” will open a new restaurant on Valentine’s Day. The Lexi’s website describes its venue, RSK, as “a sensual speakeasy” with a “six-course aphrodisiac tasting menu” and a soundtrack of sultry R&B tunes. The efficacy of said “aphrodisiacs” is yet to be determined. Eataly Opens Its New Bar Eataly Bar is now slinging pizza, bruschetta, and spritzes at the Park MGM food hall. The indoor-outdoor bar has a bruschetta menu with varieties like one with black truffle and whipped ricotta. And the new Pizza al Padellino ferries pizza to the bar that are topped with roasted mixed mushrooms or housemade mozzarella.
