Renowned New York Chef Angie Mar Brings Her Famed Lunar New Year Party to Las Vegas
Angie Mar at Le B. | William Hereford Plus, Eataly opens a new restaurant and Randy’s Donuts expands (again) Chef Angie Mar’s New York City restaurant Le B. and the closed Beatrice Inn have made headlines for their stylish interiors, caviar-laden dishes, and triple-digit menu prices. But it is Mar’s fabled Lunar New Year party that has become the place to see and be seen by tastemakers and fashion crowd stalwarts. Last year’s incarnation at Le B. in the West Village featured dragon dances, gold confetti, and a guest roster that included Martha Stewart. This year, Mar is bringing her annual party to Las Vegas for the first time, hosting the soiree at Delilah at the Wynn Las Vegas. Tickets for the party on Sunday, February 2 will cost $500. Celebrating the Year of the Snake, the party of 250 guests will feature a big band, New York DJ duo the Muses, Chinese lion dancers, anticipated celebrity sightings, and passed dim sum and cocktails. Partygoers can expect Chinese dishes like pork and truffle dumplings, shrimp spring rolls, Beijing duck, citrus pavlovas, and Mont Blanc pastries with chestnut cream and chocolate sponge. In the post-dinner hours of the party, the food will transition to mini versions of Mar’s 45-day dry-aged burger, fried chicken with caviar, and wagyu pigs in a blanket. Mar opened Le B. a year ago with an upscale dining room in which Christian Siriano-tuxedoed servers ferry whole deviled eggs ensconced with truffle chaud froid to tables. Mar most recently visited Las Vegas as part of the Revelry food festival that ran in tandem with the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards in June 2024.
