The Latest Celebrity to Open a Restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip Is — Netflix

For three months, the streamer’s restaurant headlined chefs who had appeared on shows like Chef’s Table: BBQ and Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend, with chefs Dominique Crenn, Ming Tsai, and Andrew Zimmern preparing dishes for the promotional restaurant. Netflix is diving back into the restaurant business with a one-year version of Netflix Bites — this time in Las Vegas. The residency is scheduled to run for one year at the MGM Grand. There is no further information about what prospective diners can expect or what the food will cost — only that the “one-of-a-kind restaurant experience offering guests a savory journey” will be inspired by Netflix titles, according to a press release. Netflix Bites begins construction this month on the former Avenue Cafe space and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner when it opens its doors at MGM Grand in early 2025. The restaurant won’t be the first time that Netflix teamed up with MGM Resorts International. Last year, Park MGM launched Chef Truck, inspired by the food truck in the movie Chef and subsequent Chef Show for Netflix, with Jon Favreau and Roy Choi. The chefs reprised their respective roles to curate a menu that features Cubano sandwiches, crunchy croquettes, and spicy watermelon salad. MGM says to expect more details about Netflix Bites soon. Southern California Coffee Buzzes Into Vegas San Diego’s Better Buzz Coffee Roasters opened a new coffee shop at 3432 St. Rose Parkway in Henderson. The roaster started as a coffee cart in 2002 and now has a menu of creamy vanilla Americanos, icy espresso Old Fashioned mocktails, cinnamon cream cold brews, and breakfast sandwiches on pretzel buns. The coffee shop and drive-thru is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Googie California Diner Is Open The quintessential California diner, Norms, opens today in central Las Vegas. Taking over the space of a former Applebee’s at 4605 West Charleston Boulevard near Decatur Boulevard, the diner — swathed in orange and marked by a bright pennant sign — starts serving 24-hour pancakes, omelets, burgers, and bloody Marys on Wednesday, October 30. The District Is Getting a $3 Million Renovation The District at Green Valley Ranch is putting $3 million into renovating the outdoor shopping and dining area. Part of the renovations is going into opening new locations for Urth Caffe, North Italia, and Flower Child. Other updates will include new signage and lighting at storefronts and communal areas, new landscaping and furniture in outdoor dining areas, and improved seating options.
