The Latest Restaurant Closings in Las Vegas, March 2025

The Buffet at Luxor. | Janna Karel March’s closings include a 30-year-old Henderson cantina and a Strip buffet The dining landscape in Las Vegas is ever-changing. Only a couple months into the new year, Las Vegas has already bid goodbye to Strip restaurants with celebrity names and neighborhood haunts with 24-hour dining. Some restaurants closed at the end of 2024, while others are in their final weeks of service. This round-up covers the restaurant closings you may have missed. The Buffet at Luxor The Ancient Egypt-themed buffet at the Luxor casino is certainly one of the most fun on the Strip. For more than 30 years, the casual buffet has fed hotel guests heat lamp-warmed bacon, scrambled eggs, and boiled beans during the midday brunch hours. While the food quality hovers around “meh,” the aesthetics down in the Luxor’s basement dining room are spectacular. The line into the buffet is flanked by sandy stone palm trees. The head of a sphynx emerges from beneath desert sand. Booths are bordered by rough-hewn brick and roped sections of stone, and statues of Anubis hang out around the seating areas. On March 30, it will become the latest buffet to exit Las Vegas, leaving only seven Strip casino buffets to carry on one of the city’s oldest traditions. Coyotes Cafe and Cantina After 30 years of serving Tex-Mex bar fare in Henderson, Coyotes Cafe and Cantina posted a handwritten sign on the door, reading “Permanent Closed!” The neighborhood bar at 4350 East Sunset Road, Suite 104 near Green Valley Parkway, offered a Happy Hour with $3 beer and $5 margaritas, bar-top gaming machines, and a menu of enchiladas, fajitas, chiles rellenos, and combination plates. It closed in mid-March. Bazaar Meat In October 2024, chef José Andrés’s popular steakhouse, Bazaar Meat, announced that it would close at the Sahara Las Vegas and reopen at the Palazzo at the Venetian Resort. The Sahara confirmed to Eater Las Vegas that Bazaar Meat has set a closing date — it is signed with the Sahara to stay open through June 30. A representative for the Venetian told Eater Vegas that the new Bazaar Meat is tracking toward an opening date in late August 2025.
